Grunwald Wedding

On Saturday, September 29th, The Mill hosted the wedding ceremony and reception of Tyler and Brittany Grunwald. Tyler grew up in Owatonna and Brittany grew up in Medford. They have known each other for quite awhile through mutual friends. They were together for 3 and 1/2 years before they got engaged. They have yet to choose a destination for their honeymoon, but plan to take a “mini moon” up north. They hope to go somewhere warm in the winter or spring.

Why they chose The Mill…

“I fell in love as soon as I walked in to look at it! I wanted to have everything on one location and for our number of guests this was the perfect place to be able to do that. The theme of our wedding fit perfectly in there and I love all of the little details inside. I enjoyed working with Joe and his family. A lot of our guests had never been to The Mill before and I lost track of how many compliments we got about how they loved the place!”

-Brittany Grunwald

They did most of the food themselves. Brittany’s step-dad smoked all of their pulled pork. The only thing they had brought in was the buns, coleslaw and mashed potatoes.

All of the decorations were done by Brittany and her mom. The flowers were done by a friend of her moms.

Music and entertainment was provided by Hano and the Hoff Entertainment, LLC. They are out of Owatonna and did a great job entertaining and getting everyone out on the dance floor.

The photographs of the wedding were done by a long time friend of Brittany’s, named Gabrielle.

Congrats to Tyler and Brittany!

Leese Wedding

On Saturday September 22nd, The Mill hosted the wedding ceremony and reception of Chris and Makayla Leese. This was the first time that The Mill has had a wedding ceremony in the building and it was beautiful.

Chris grew up in Faribault, while Makayla grew up in Waseca. They first met at a friend’s house. Chris was living with a roommate that was dating one of Makayla’s friends. They dated for 3 years and 1 month before getting engaged. They have decided to go to Duluth for their honeymoon.

Why they Chose The Mill…

“The Mill had the room for us to have both the wedding and reception. We were able to not travel from venue to venue for the wedding to reception. Joe and his family were amazing to work with. They were super understanding and accommodating. We had an absolutely amazing time, 10/10 experience for sure”

-Makayla Leese

Tina, Makayla’s mom, made a lot of the decorations for the ceremony and reception. Barb King and Karla Sather were the ones that decorated the whole place and and made the space look as beautiful as possible for the couple. Flowers were done by Suzie Koziolek.

All of the food for the night was prepared by the family, but was purchased from Hyvee and Kreniks.

A neat part of their wedding was the incorporation of the toy soldiers. Guests could take a soldier home and place it somewhere to remind them of all the men and women serving our country. While Chris works for the Waseca Post Office, he also serves in the Army Reserves.

The music for the night was provided by Larry Johnson.

Chris and Makayla chose to go with Brittney Renee Photography to capture their special day.

Congrats to Chris and Makayla!

While all though this was a smaller reception that we have hosted, the love and fun in the atmosphere was still the same. One of Jeff and Valerie’s hobbies is that of movies. Because of this, their reception given the theme of a movie theater. The tables were decorated with popcorn container filled with yellow flowers to mimic popcorn, along with clapboards with their different favorite movies to show the table numbers. All of the decorations were done by family and friends of the couple. The flowers were from Hyvee of Waseca. The couple chose to have The Boathouse Grill and Bar cater their food for the night.

Kracht Tied the Knot

On Saturday, June 16th, The Mill hosted the wedding reception of Lucas Kracht, of Wheaton, and Betsie Collins, of Waseca. Both Betsie and her mom wanted an industrial type venue. After considering all of their options, they decided that The Mill would be the perfect spot. Since we have such a large area, and they wanted to bring some intimacy to the space, they decided to bring in 12 and 14 foot draping. The guests’ tables were adorned with fresh garlands and flowers. Zinnias Boutique designed all of the floral arrangements. Also on the tables were over 400 candles to add to the intimacy of the area.

Betsie and her wedding party started her big day by getting their hair and makeup done by Cassie’s Classic Cuts, Megan Ann Malecha, Andee Hoehn of Expressions, and Ann Koble.

Lucas and Betsie had The Depot Bar and Grill of Faribault, MN cater their wedding. They had every kind of food you could imagine. From pastas, to a taco bar, to chicken wings and sliders for the guests to choose from.

After everyone was done eating, the tables were moved and the drapes behind the wedding party’s table were lifted to reveal the stage and The Blue Ringers, that would be providing the music for the rest of the night.

The beautiful pictures from the wedding and reception were captured by Makayla Rae Photography.

Congrats to Lucas and Betsie for tying the knot!

Huber Wedding

On Saturday June 9th, The Mill hosted the wedding reception of Tyler Huber, of Waseca, and Stephanie Bittner, of St. Peter. The couple decided to go with a country theme because they one day hope to take over the family farm and become the 4th generation to farm there. The tractor below was actually a Christmas gift that Tyler gave to Stephanie a couple of years ago.

For their meal Tyler and Stephanie chose to stick with the country theme and have pulled pork, meat provided by Fischer Family Farms Pork, baked beans, salads, chips, and all the fixins’.

For their table decor, each of the place mats had hand written sentiments to promote their special day.

The night was followed with music and dancing for all to enjoy. Music was provided by Elegant Affairs.

Congrats to Tyler and Stephanie!
