Eichorst Wedding

On the 25th of August, The Mill had the pleasure of hosting Jeff and Valerie Eichorst’s wedding reception. While all though this was a smaller reception that we have hosted, the love and fun in the atmosphere was still the same. One of Jeff and Valerie’s hobbies is that of movies. Because of this, their reception given the theme of a movie theater. The tables were decorated with popcorn container filled with yellow flowers to mimic popcorn, along with clapboards with their different favorite movies to show the table numbers. All of the decorations were done by family and friends of the couple. The flowers were from Hyvee of Waseca. The couple chose to have The Boathouse Grill and Bar cater their food for the night.

A special feature that they had for the kids was a kids’ corner filled with glow sticks, coloring books, stickers, and candy for them to enjoy.

Jeff and Valerie also had a red carpet photo booth for the guests to take a picture so that the they could create a photo book to remember their special night.

We are the Wolfes

On Saturday August 18th, Justin Wolfe and Taylor Juberien of Waseca celebrated their union with their reception at The Mill. Justin and Taylor met through a mutual friend, Rod Walstrom, and dated for 5 and 1/2 years before getting engaged. Justin and Taylor have decided to go to Punta Cana for their honeymoon.

Justin and Taylor decided to have El Molino of Waseca cater their wedding. Guests were given the choice of steak or chicken fajitas, chicken chipotle, rice, beans, and baby reds.

The Mill was decorated by Vanilla and Gold, and the flowers were arranged by Tami Collins of Zinnias Boutique.

The guests were able to dance the night away to music played by Craig Simmons, also known as DJ Simo.

Justin and Taylor’s wedding was captured by Grace Byron. Along with Grace taking pictures of the night, there was a photo station that guests could take pictures with a polaroid camera and sign for Justin and Taylor to keep and remember their special night.

Matt and Nicole provided their guests with a menu of tossed greens, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, and chicken kiev. All of the food was catered by The Pheasant Cafe of Waseca.

At each table there was a mason jar with a flower bouquet on top of a wooden slice. There was also a mini picture of the lovely couple at each of the tables.

Guests were able to enjoy lots of music and dancing, after the meal. The couple chose to bring in a DJ, Chris Moe Entertainment.

Congrats to Matt and Nicole!

Kracht Tied the Knot

On Saturday, June 16th, The Mill hosted the wedding reception of Lucas Kracht, of Wheaton, and Betsie Collins, of Waseca. Both Betsie and her mom wanted an industrial type venue. After considering all of their options, they decided that The Mill would be the perfect spot. Since we have such a large area, and they wanted to bring some intimacy to the space, they decided to bring in 12 and 14 foot draping. The guests’ tables were adorned with fresh garlands and flowers. Zinnias Boutique designed all of the floral arrangements. Also on the tables were over 400 candles to add to the intimacy of the area.

Betsie and her wedding party started her big day by getting their hair and makeup done by Cassie’s Classic Cuts, Megan Ann Malecha, Andee Hoehn of Expressions, and Ann Koble.

Lucas and Betsie had The Depot Bar and Grill of Faribault, MN cater their wedding. They had every kind of food you could imagine. From pastas, to a taco bar, to chicken wings and sliders for the guests to choose from.

After everyone was done eating, the tables were moved and the drapes behind the wedding party’s table were lifted to reveal the stage and The Blue Ringers, that would be providing the music for the rest of the night.

The beautiful pictures from the wedding and reception were captured by Makayla Rae Photography.

Congrats to Lucas and Betsie for tying the knot!

Huber Wedding

On Saturday June 9th, The Mill hosted the wedding reception of Tyler Huber, of Waseca, and Stephanie Bittner, of St. Peter. The couple decided to go with a country theme because they one day hope to take over the family farm and become the 4th generation to farm there. The tractor below was actually a Christmas gift that Tyler gave to Stephanie a couple of years ago.

For their meal Tyler and Stephanie chose to stick with the country theme and have pulled pork, meat provided by Fischer Family Farms Pork, baked beans, salads, chips, and all the fixins’.

For their table decor, each of the place mats had hand written sentiments to promote their special day.

The night was followed with music and dancing for all to enjoy. Music was provided by Elegant Affairs.

Congrats to Tyler and Stephanie!

Renovation to Date 4/09

The Mill is currently under renovation. We wanted to update you on some of the stuff that is currently taking place. The previous existing cement walls have all been dry walled and painted a light grey. The ceiling has been put in and you can now really get the full detail of all the rafters up there. Bathrooms have been put in next to the bar. The outside is wrapped in old red barn wood, adding to the rustic feel of the place.

Meet the Owners

The Mill Event Center is owned and operated by Joe and Deb Hoehn of Waseca Minnesota. They were both graduates from Waseca High School and have lived here their whole lives. They have five children, Joe Jr. (Shorty), Jesse, Abbe, Anna, and Jim (or Budger).

Shorty works for his dad and works for Aaron Cole in the cities sometimes. He also raises cattle on the side. Jesse loves to compete in Special Olympics and works during the week for Jobs Plus. Abbe works as a para at the intermediate school in Waseca and will also work part-time at Personalized Printing of Waseca and the Backyard Bar and Grill located in Pemberton. Anna is going to school at the University of Minnesota for mortuary science. She also works for a funeral home in the cities, gaining experience to one day become a funeral director. Budger is still in high school and will be graduating in the spring of 2018.

Both Joe and Deb come from a big family, so family has always been an important part of their lives. When the family is not busy working, you can find them enjoying time with friends, hanging with the family, or watching the many sports that they are fans of, especially The Minnesota Vikings.

The whole family has spent many hours preparing The Mill to be opened into an event center for all to enjoy. Every family member has played a role in getting the place up and running. It has really turned into a family affair. They hope that all their hard work pays off soon and that The Mill will be ready to hold events
